The Role:
The Principal Piping Materials Engineer has the technical responsibility for all piping materials including specialty items. As the Principal Piping Materials Engineer, you utilize your technical expertise to develop safe and quality solutions in support of project and discipline requirements with minimal guidance. You ensure successful resolution of complex technical issues to meet project and discipline deliverables. You engage with peers across Regional Centers to promote knowledge sharing and acts as a consultant and mentor to less experienced engineers to ensure knowledge transfer, product memory, and application of best practices. The Principal Piping Materials Engineer works in conjunction with Discipline Manager, Discipline Leads, Supply Chain and Construction to seek continuous improvement in both quality and efficiency of work.
Must have a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Professional Engineer Certification is preferred.
Minimum of 15 years relevant experience in the design and engineering of topsides modules (fixed offshore platforms or floating offshore structures such as FPSO's and/or Semi Submersibles).
Knowledge of ABS, DNV, API codes and standards is required.
Excellent technical know-how and overview throughout his discipline.
Experience as a Piping team leader or supervisor role.
Mobility to overseas assignment is an advantage.
