The Role:
We are seeking Mining Production Engineer with underground mining experience to join our client's team on a permanent full-time position. Main purpose of this role is to facilitate the optimal extraction of gold ore from mining operations by providing complete production planning, scheduling service that achieves production & development targets ensuring maximum return in alignment with EHS standards. FIFO position from Perth this role is being offered on an 8/6 roster; there is also the possibility for longer roster of 2/2 due to current situation.
The roles will include yet not be limited to:
Assist in the development of the departmental business plan, encouraging full participation and buy-in from team members
Support in coordinating the activities of planning, production and contractors in carrying out the daily work plan and safely monitoring these
Achievement of planned production and safety targets by assisting in the development of weekly and monthly plans in collaboration with the Senior Mining Engineer
Ensure that all members of the mining team have clear understanding and direction of objectives
Create competent, consistent and optimal drill and blast designs that account for the most up to date economic and geological information
Ensure that all statutory responsibilities and obligations of the Underground Ventilation Officer are fulfilled in a timely manner when appointed
Assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of reporting information periodically for managing target delivery, safety, etc.
Contribute to the business's capability to mine safely by actively identify risks and threats to achieving targets
Engineer of issues that may affect objectives by continually communicating in an appropriate manner
Provide ongoing leadership and mentoring for graduates and cadets assisting the Senior Mining Engineer in the effective use of the Performance Management System

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
BSc degree in Mining Engineering
Circa 3 years underground/surface engineering with exposure to longhole drilling, blasting, ventilation, projects, planning and scheduling - preferably gold
Exposure to contract mining environments
Around 12 months Practical underground experience
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite and mining software such as Datamine, Mine Works Planner
Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Honours Degree
Formal Business/Commerce studies
Exposure to a variety of different ore body types and models
Exposure to different mining methods and associated economics
